Here’s a quick photo from an awesome 5 hour graduation party at Russels Steakhouse in Hillsborough that we played at on Saturday, June 11. Restaurants are fun venues for events and each one has its own unique personality. The kids at this party were so excited and the energy was contagious!

We DJed a St. Patrick’s day dance last weekend at STM in Chapel Hill. We enjoy these middle school dances because we have been DJing here since 2006 and it gives us a chance to remain connected with our old schools. We understand school dances and after DJing at 9 different schools, we are able to deliver an awesome performance to the students while keeping the teachers happy with clean music. We also custom tailor our music to meet the event’s needs. Here’s a quick shot of Nick:
We recently acquired two Vestax VCI-100s. This is a MIDI controller for our digital DJ software that allows us to bring our performance to the next level with dynamic mixing and sharp effects. Here’s a photo of one in action. Look for a review of the VCI-100 coming soon.
Finally, I just had to include this great photo of Al and I from after the dance:
It’s hard to believe that the first day of spring is coming up next week! Before we know it, summer is going to sneak up on us. I know spring is a popular time for sweet 16s and birthday parties, so if you’re planning a party contact us to learn more about how we can meet your needs. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week!
February is always a busy month for us, with many people holding events around Valentine’s Day. We DJed a greek event at UNC-Chapel Hill:
We also did two school dances, one of which was at Ravenscroft, the other was at Durham Academy. This was our first time at Ravenscroft and everyone seemed to have a great time:
We tried a new speaker set-up for this event only, adding in our 4 smaller speakers. This gave us some extra wattage, but I don’t know if we’ll be using this setup in the future.
If you’re not already following us on Facebook, become a fan today to stay updated on our events and be the first to know about the parties we’re throwing this summer!
Just before winter break, we DJed a school dance to give students a chance to celebrate the last day of school. Here are a few photos from that dance:
The dance was full of energy as all the students were ecstatic to be finished with exams and were ready for a few weeks off from classes.
We thought that things might be a little different because this dance was in the morning, but that was not the case. The teachers covered up the windows to make it darker in the gym to create a dance-like atmosphere. Requests were average and we were able to play almost all the songs requested plus the latest in top 40 as well as classic pop/hip-hop songs to get students dancing. As this was a middle school, we also played the icebreakers such as Cha Cha Slide, Macarena, and Cupid Shuffle. You know you’re doing a good job when the teachers start dancing!
